Assateague Boondocking

We have had our camper (2016 Rockwood 2703WS) going into the 4th year now. My first real camping trip of the year is a long weekend trip to Assateague National Seashore in February or March. I have two Deep Cycle 12V batteries and a 2200 watt Ryobi Inverter Generator. I am going again this year (early March). This will be my 3rd year boondocking at Assateague. I LOVE IT. The Dear Wife.... not so much

Does anyone else boondock at Assateague in the winter or, as my Dear Wife, implies, am I just stupid Of course she says this lovingly. I take my old Black Lab with me and we hang out for 4 days and 3 nights. One year I had the entire camping loop to myself.

Marty,

It's a Great Time to be there - Usually we search out an Indian Summer - 60-70 degree days and Yes usually will have it to yourself.

One year - Long long ago - buddy and I did it only to get his 64' Land Rover stuck - that was fun - not - but we did get out, as an East Coast wild and Beautiful area it is Great in the Winter.

Enjoy - post an Image or two,

We stop either southbound or northbound between NY and Florida, as we snowbird.

Since we are escaping winter, that wouldn't be on our list in Jan., Feb. or March.

We do love it there in the spring and fall.

Is there actual boondocking or in a campground without hookups? Two different things.

In the Federal park, Its dry camping, in an assigned site. No power, sewer or water at the site.

The State park has 1 loop of sites with power.
