Badlands Boondocking by the towers

Anyone been there recently?
Went last year early October and stayed right by the towers.(green x).
The road was closed off just south of that point. (red line).
We want to go back in six to eight weeks and stay 2 nights either north of the towers ( yellow line) or go south if it's open.
The place is magic after dark.
Anyone been there ?Click image for larger version

If you're writing about the cell towers south of Wall, we weren't sure about our rig and staying there. However, about 2 months ago, we stopped by and the place was busy with rigs and looked quite nice--however, it was scheduled to rain that night, and it did. The mud must have been a concern it you had to leave in the morning.
There were several class A's, two Airstreams, and maybe 2 dozen other RV's. There was a big drop upon entering the area after we crossed a cattle guard, but the rest was easy.
The views must have been super! Next time.

We have our eyes on staying there for a night or two next week or the the week after. Been stuck in a private CG for a month with truck issues & lack of parts. Can't wait to get someplace with a bit of remoteness.

Is this remote enough?
This is your view right before sundown.
I can't get enough of this place. Give a report when you get there.
BTW this shortage of everything is really getting old. Hope you get on the road asap.

That will do just fine. The last place that we had remote was a BLM CG in the Canyonlands area in May. Very few there.

My only concern is that we might be a little on the large side at just under 55' LOA, 35' for the trailer & 2WD.

As long as the road is decent & ground solid we are good.

If it's dry it's solid. A few bumps here and there but nothing to make you bottom out.
I made it through with my 2002 Hornet 25FL and it's a lowrider compared to a modern unit.Click image for larger version

Yes, I was there last month for my 2nd visit, stayed 3 nights. I like to go to the area south of the entrance "road". Unfortunately is was during a hot spell of over 100 degrees, so my gennie worked hard. It is one of my favorite cliff sites

Is the road still closed off just to the south (1/2 mile) of the towers?
How far north of the towers were they going?
Thanks Jeff

That's farther north than they were going last fall. Good news.

The road that goes north from the entrance road was open all the way last month. The road that goes south from the entrance road is open. That road then bends to the west and goes along that little canyon that also goes west, that road is closed to traffic, but I did hike up that way. Looks like the BLM wants that part of the road to revert back to the prairie. Here are a couple views from my hike showing that little west-leaning canyon:

Also, one of my neighbors when I arrived told me that the morning before a nearby camper found a rattlesnake resting under his entrance stairs. So be vigilant on your first steps out in the A.M.
