Boondocking near Alexandria VA

We are looking to stay 2 nights in Alexandria VA near the center of city. I have called both local Walmarts listed in RVParky, and have gotten different answers based on who who answers the phone. Does anyone know a good place to spend a couple days in early April? All campgrounds seem far away for just a 2 day stay.

Would Greenbelt National Park work?

Thanks for your suggestion. Never been to that park, but do enjoy Cherry Hill nearby. We're seeing friends in Old Town Alexandria for 2 days and all parks seem like quite a haul to drive, thus our goal to boondock somewhat nearby.

There are several campgrounds close to Alexandria, Burke Lake Park, Bull Run Regional Campground, Lake Fairfax Park, Pohick Bay Regional Park. Have you checked any of these? I assume you have a toad, would not want to maneuver a motorhome around NoVA.

Thank you. Yes, checked these parks out. We are staying at Cherry Hill for 3 weeks after trip to Alexandria but was hoping to boondock near old town for a couple days before actually camping at Cherry Hill and all real parks are pretty far out.

Sorry I couldn’t offer more help, but I really can’t think of a place in Old Town where you could park a coach. Good luck with your search.
