Champion 3400 dual/fuel on RV propane system

Hi folks, a little how to on running a Champion 3400 Dual/Fuel off the RV auto switch over propane system. Endless continuous run without the hassle of gas cans.
First we convert the propane engine for quick connect.
This is what you get with the generator from Champion.

We remove the regulator due to the RV system is all ready at 4 psi with it's own regulator.

Now we install the RV male quick connect fitting.

Simple.
Here we are running off the RV propane quick connect system.

And here is a video running the Coleman mach 3 15K air conditioner at 6200 foot altitude on eco mode.

The big advantage is we can run these generators for 20+ hours on a bottle of Propane, as opposed to 8hrs on a tank of fuel. With the duel fuel unit I have, I usually run off Gasoline but it is dang handy to have the propane when you need it/run out of gas - or want to run the AC overnight. Even better if you can run those long pulls on the house RV system and not have to worry about slinging propane bottles or gas cans around in the middle of the night.

I am to spoiled. You couldn't hear my 7500 Quiet diesel from that far away. I see the benefit of longer run time but you still have to shut down to check oil per your owners manual every 8 hours. Long runs like this is where I would be using a full synthetic oil.

Me too, I pay $2.49/gallon and thought it was a fair deal at Tractor Supply Co. Regarding the A/C start on Eco Mode, I stopped doing that with mine due to taking a chance in "brown starting" the compressor. Not sure that it will hurt the compressor, but didn't want to chance it, so if I decide to run the A/C(s) then I go off Eco Mode and let the genset run. I realize the genset ramps up fairly quickly, but not as quick as full throttle. My Honda EU7000i will run better than 18 hours on 5 gallons of gas on Eco Mode. Of course, this is subject to what is going on inside the RV with coffee pot, hair dryer, microwave, etc., but we have been able to go the 20 hours during tailgating weekends! Oh, and 60dB(A) @ Full Load; 52dB(A) @ 1/4 Load. Your 7500 Quiet Diesel is probably 52dB(A) @ Full Load, they are sweet!

and I've paid $4 a gallon for gas in the past it's a moot point. I don't have to horse around with gas cans I don't have to try spilling gas all over a hot generator it's just convenient to run it off the RV propane system especially due to the auto switch over of the propane tanks.

Thank you for this! I had originally bought a straight through male-male hose which didn't work great since I had to adjust the valve on my trailer to make it run steady.

My Jayco has a 15k also, but I am able to start mine on my little 2800 Champion inverter on propane!

Being able to run my Gen. on propane or gas is AWESOME I love having a choice. I always carry 2 extra 5 gallon tanks of propane. But I run the Gen. on Gasoline as much as possible. The generator works harder when your running on propane (At least with heavy loads like the A/C) Fuel usage is about 2 to 1 propane being the highest user, I did a test when I first got my Champion. Like I said it's so nice having the option to use ether fuels, but I would recommend using gasoline when possible.
