Colorado Rockies

Boondocking with the Tiffin Wayfarer in the Colorado Rockies on US Forest Service land for the Perseid meteor shower. Working by day, and stargazing at night with a little food, wine, and mtn biking thrown in for good measure. Lithium barriers and solar panels get us through the night and enough to work on the laptops all day.

Not last night. A few clouds tonight. Thinking of getting up at 4 AM to try again tomorrow.

Yes it is. We go in the car with the phone hotspot (Visible) and dedicated hotspot (ATT) and do a day trip on a weekend to check out potential new spots for the quality of fishing/riding and data speeds. If the work we go up one night midweek in hopes of getting a primo spot.

Food and wine just taste better up there, preferrably above 10,000 feet. I love that experience. We've done this often around Silveton, and just cannot get enough. And the skies are very dark in the Colorado wilderness.

Tempranillo and cab is an interesting blend. How did you like it?

For your working way out there on The Far Side of Beyond ... what kind/type of high speed Internet access are you using?

We have two options. A dedicated ATT hotspot in a Nighthawk router and hours hotspots on our phones with Visible. ATT was slow in this spot 2-3 mbps down / 1 up, but Visible was smoking 135 mbps down and 8 up.
