Connecting an auxiliary propane tank?

Wife and I are boondocked in the New England area. Using the propane system on board for hot water and heating at night. If I run low on Propane I will need to drive at least 20 miles in the MH to get the on board tank filled. Is their way to connect a regular propane tank for like a BBQ to the system? Or maybe some of you have an option that works for you?

There are several versions of the extend a stay units. simple to install and make it handy to not have to break camp when needing propane. Installs after your shut off and BEFORE your regulator. That is important to remember.
Have fun leaf peeping in New England.

Extend A Stay or something similar will get the job done. Be sure to follow installation instructions to the letter.

The MB Sturgis Extend a Stay with quick disconnects is what I have.

MB Sturgis Extend-A-Stay Quick Disconnect

I have used the one with standard fittings and found it difficult to connect the hoses in cold weather. The Quick Disconnects make it fast and simple.
