Thanks Red Dragon, that's just what we need to hear. Thanks to all for sharing thus far. Your experience is worth more than making a huge financial mistake by buying too heavy, too big, not being able to access some of what we've loved and still want to moving forwards. We haven't got the luxury any more, of making a wrong move and regretting it.

Thanks again.

Same here with 100F/100G/68B plus solar as outlined in our sig.

36' is a great length for the 2 of us and allows us to get into tighter places. Our coach also has a longer than normal wheelbase for a 36' so we have less rear overhang which allows us to get into even more boondock spots

The overhang definitely makes a big difference in going in dips in the road or in turns.

Be careful

When I first got my 38 footer I drove into the woods and had trouble getting out, did some damage. Big rigs in the woods are not a good idea. I now stop, take the car off and do a little recon first. When in doubt I pass on the place.

29', gas, 17 years old.

Boondock 13 out of ever 14 days from the end of April to the beginning of October. ( the 14 day is usually in a cheap Rv park for a full battery charge/dump/cloths washing.)

Solar is 600 watts feeding 400 amps.

To me a big key to boondocking is a composting toilet.

We drive a 2003 36' Winnebago. Our last two weekend trips we boondocked. First trip we parked an Paint Creek campground in a National Forest. Sign on the road in said 40' vehicle max and the road in lived up to the sign. No problem getting in or parking.

Last weekend we went in to Curtis Creek Campground with no sign on the unpaved road but there should have been. Two single lane bridges not more than 10' wide.

We had a great time in beautiful sites in an uncrowded campground.
