If the cleanout is installed before the septic tank there should be no problem. At our home, we use things like bleach and washing machine detergents, toilet cleaning liquids etc. without any problems in our septic system.
In the past 55+ years of camping we have only use Dihydrogen Oxide or if I feel real brave I will use Hydric acid to treat our tanks. It is a great product for a lot of uses, but be very careful as it can be fatal if inhaled.

That is what we do after the last day of travel. We do have maserator toilets so everything is pretty broken down.
I do not think the small amount of chemicals that some add to the holding tank would have any impact. There is 1,000 or so gallons in a septic tank so the dilution is great.
Make sure that you dump it into the chamber closest to the house. This is where the solids break down. We used a long 3" hose that we kept in a shed until we got our last coach. We have a maserator pump and I drilled a hole in the top of the tank that a small PVC line can fit in that is sealed with a plug. We have a cover over the lids that looks like a deck that allows us to access them without digging and lawn up. Now when we get home we pull the plug put the PVC line in connect it to a garden hose that we use to empty and turn the maserator on.

You may be a serious RVer if . . . you really envy someone with a cleanout at home next to where they park their RV.
I'd rather have a convenient home sewer cleanout than a swimming pool! (I have a pool and would gladly trade it for a cleanout.)

When we had the house with a septic system, we dumped the black and gray in the septic clean out next to the house. Never an issue in 10 years.

You don't need to use chemicals in your black tank. We full-timed 16 years and just used water. No problems.

Well, it looks like our dry camping trip isn't gonna happen this year. But I appreciate all of the discussion. I learned a lot about macerators, septic tanks, what chemicals to use - if any, and the dangers of Dihydrogen Monoxide. If this trip comes up again, I'll be ready!

We are moving soon to our new modular which will have a septic system with a clean out that we could use if I got a macerator system. Don't plan on that because our new home is only six blocks from our camping spot that we own. Our home we are leaving is only 14 miles away and we would have to run home to check things and water plants etc. so would take showers then so tanks would not fill for quite a while. Another plus is on the way home is a county park where you can dump for $2.00. Once we get moved I will use the county park to dump, it would take a long time to pay for a macerator system. Jim.
