For $150 per night payable to Monroe County Sherrif. Not a good idea

Down here now, signs posted along US 1, no RV parking from 11 PM to 6 AM, 100 dollar fine. Try for state parks, reasonable cost. Seen many commerical parks, but most not worth the money they want. Stopped by one just to see, looked more like a hobo village and was called a resort at 85 bucks. Recommendation stay at top of keys and drive toad down.. That's what we did.

Laugh! Yea, you are right Cool, let's all go, they couldn't have that much jail space down there. I 'll take up the rear though

Boondocking in the keys

My wife and I just spent three days boondocking in the keys. It was tough but we found two spots.

In Key West we stayed in a large field in the Truman Annex just outside of Fort Zachary. Directly across from the eco discovery center. There is a large palm tree you can park under. During the day tour busses park all around there so an rv generally goes unnoticed. This only works on the weekends, during the week the cops will come around and ask you to move on.

The other spot we stayed is behind a library on Islamorada. There is a park on the water and a parking lot with no limits on rvs or overnight parking. Our rig is 26 feet, nothing bigger will fit in that lot.

So theres no walmart?

Or other over night stop overs...This area is more of a park and not really towns? No lowes or malls that put up with overnighters?

Even the Publix and other mainstream stores have small lots and don't want any rvs.

If you are retired military, there is a RV park on the Navy Base.
