Will a EU2000i generator be enough to power this AC unit? I am generator illiterate and appreciate any help.

Welcome to the warm weather season.

First a direct answer -- Yes: it appears from the specification sheet (to which your link points) that the unit requires only 950 watts. The Honda EU2000i should be able to generate about 1600 watts on a continuous basis.

However, I am wondering exactly what this unit requires for installation -- in particular, how does the heat get outside of the RV?
Is the value (cost comparison) better than installing a "standard" air-conditioner (which would generally not be supported by the Honda EU200i generator)? Are there other factors in your case?

Thanks for the reply and info. Way I understand it, you have a 5' exhaust hose to vent with. I plan on using it in my hotshot rig. The main unit in the cab, exhaust out the window( AC exhuast) Gen. in back for power. Excess water has a drain, I can deal with thatby drilling a hole in the cab and draining. This is to be used for sleeping comfort and save fuel, vs. idleing for 8 hrs plus. As a side note I want to use this for comfort in our tent, as we camp alot here in south texas. Summer time really limits our camping.

I have a Honda EX 1000 that I am useing as a backup now that the carb is off of my 4KW Onan.

The EX 1000 runs very well. I can use it to charge my batteries feeding an Iota 30 Amp and an Iota 45 amp but it will not run the Freedom 1200 watt Inverter/Charger at 50 Amps charging.

The EX 1000 will also not run my 600 watt microwave from AC even if all the other AC breakers are switched off. It will run the microwave from the Inverter while usng an Iota charger.

Even with no AC appliances on, just charging for my Ni Hydride batteries, electric toothbrush, shaver, drill, screwdriver and parasitics the main breaker in the motorhome trips off after just a few minutes of run time. Wait a minute; I don't have to reset the breaker so it must be something else. Probably the Freedom inverter does not like the waveform from the EX 1000?
