Lake Superior

Where is a boondocking spot that a 40 foot RV could fit along Lake Superior?

It's about 1300 miles around Superior, perhaps you could narrow it down a bit.

Dry camping in a few USFS CG the summer of 2018.

Au Train - Very nice. Not 'lake front'. Clean CG with plenty of room for almost any rig. The 'nature trail' is nice, but with mosquitoes large enough and big enough to outdo anything in the Louisiana swamps.

Bay Furnace near Munsing - very nice. A few spots with lake views. The only dump station in the area.

Bay View near Brimley was out favorite - good spots just over a berm from the lake.

Monocle Lake just a few miles away isn't on Superior, but close. Nice.

I know there are two types of dispersed camping available on the south Michigan shore of Superior. The USFS has some areas where that is allowed. You need to contact the Ranger district - Bessemer Ranger District at 906-932-1330 for details for the area near Ironwood.

The Hiawatha National Forest for areas closer to Sault St Marie/ Mackinaw. Supervisors Office: 820 Rains Drive Gladstone, MI 49837 Phone: 906-428-5800

The National Park Service does not allow dispersed camping in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore area.

Michigan Department of Natural Resources controls usage to much of the lakeshort and nearby state forest land especially between Munsing and Sault St Marie - https://www2.dnr.state.mi.us/parksan...=677&type=SFCG

I think you'll find some national forest campgrounds suitable for a 40' MH but few places a 40' could travel down a dirt path to boondocking in the forests.
