OK, thanks Zanzabar. I did drive south down the hiway on the west side of Walker Lake in July of 2018. I stopped at the self-serve BLM Sportsman's Beach campground there (which was empty) to look around. There was a notice in the public bathroom about an large aggressive swarm of spiders that annually infest the area in summer. That would seem to make this place pretty un-appealing during that time of year, especially to the women folk.

Outside of Page, AZ. Didn't know how well the rv blended in until we couldn't find it when we returned from our day! LOLClick image for larger version

Couldn't find the RV upon return? That happened to us a couple of times -- we now mark a GPS waypoint after setting up our campsite. Otherwise, in the dark or the rain or the fog, things could get interesting, and not in a good way.

Great idea, we'll have to do that next time. Knew it should be there as there is only one road in but man did the old girl blend into the background.

We can always find our rig on RV trips ... we don't tow, so we travel like turtles ... with our little home right there with us at all times whenever we're not walking.

This was taken in early April of 2021 on BLM land east of Capitol Reef National Park -- the dark peaks in the left background are part of the Waterpocket Fold, which forms the spine of the national park:

And this is a view toward the north -- I don't think that the red mesa in the background has a name, as far as I could tell from the topo maps:

Unable to edit post, but if you mouse over each photo you can see the file name, which is STATE-Location. Hope that helps!

Dix, thanks for that tip. It turns out that if you click on one of your images, and watch them as a slideshow, the actual locations appear in the lower left corner. Well done!!

Here is a photo from my stopover last month to the SD Badlands BLM boondocking site (after a bit of a harrowing hike down the cliffs :

Gosh, Jeff, it looks like you unloaded the toys and promptly rode them straight down the cliff! Glad nobody got hurt.
