Monitors

Okay I have another question about my solar setup plans. I have decided on a Magnum 2012 inverter. Is the me-rc50 remote necessary? I was thinking about a trimetric 2025 monitor so I can see amps in / amps out kinda things but I don't know if this is necessary. Can the me-rc50 also provide that information or do I need both with a shunt?

I went with the same setup you have, I did add the remote along with the Trimetric. The remote allows you to control the inverter from the coach plus gives you the ability to make adjustments that can't be done otherwise. I would recommend getting the remote, I'm glad I did. I would recommend that you download the remote manual from Magnum and check out what you can do with it and that should help you decide if you want to make the purchase.

If you have the ME-RC50 remote you can easily control all inverter and charger functions. With the addition of the ME-BMK and shunt you also have a battery monitor. A little cheaper than the MS2012, ME-RC50 and a Trimetric RV2025.

We had the MS2012 on our sailboat and found it to be a great inverter/charger. The RC50 gives great control over the inverter and charging perimeters and with the BMK (battery monitoring kit) installed you can see the amps in and out and state of charge right on the RC50. No need for the Trimetic then.

X's 2, or 3.

Happy with how our full new system is working, and one stop shopping as well as one stop info review.
