Just read about an RV'er who wanted to save money on a water bladder. He used a spare coleman inflatable bed. First he conditioned it with a bleach rinse, then a baking soda rinse. Did this for Quartzite. Not sure how long it would last. Has anyone else out there heard of or tried this? Seems logical.

It's probably a good idea if the bladder is made from a material that is okay for drinking water. Unless he's just planning to use it for showers etc.

With the one I have, it shows it getting filled while on the roof of a car.

Then it gets emptied into your tank right away.

Haven't tried that yet, seems like a lot of weight on the KIA.

I pump the water up and out into the tank.

I'll admit I did not think of using it as water transfer versus storage

Didn't think of sleeping on it either.

If the plastic is safe for drinking water use, it's a good idea for an inexpensive water bladder.

If it's not, than I hope they aren't sharing water and not disclosing how they transported it. Someone that is allergic to a chemical used in the mattress or with a weak system could get in bad shape.
