Wandering and Fishing.
Hi gang. We are just winding up our eight week meander which took us from the Midwest up to New England. Great trip.
What do you folks do about fishing licenses? I would love to wet a line once in a while but we seem to move around a lot and buying an non-resident tag every week could really add up.
I'd like to know how you do it.

If you want to be legal, even if for no other reason than to avoid a citation for doing something that rewired a license, you're gonna have to read each state's rules very closely. Some states don't require a license if you are fishing from private property, but you still need any special tags for any species that needs it, special rules, etc. The various states rule books can usually be found online.

You could time your travels for free fishing days. WV has them. Or, just wait to get old and decrepit.

Stay in each state only long enough to use up one 10 day nonresident license for each state.
I go to one state enough that next year I may buy a 1 year nonresident one because 2 10 day ones equal a year long one in price.

MurphyMan........I think that most states don't require a fishing license for Senior Citizens, unless you are one of those poor gentleman that hasn't reached the Age of Majority. Eddie Elk.

Many RV Parks have private lakes that allow fishing without a license. These are usually advertised on their websites.

Wandering and Fishing.
Texas state parks allow fishing for paid guests, (assuming they have water), no license required

The purchase of a licence provides the funds to insure there are fish to be caught. Lakes streams and rivers must be managed to provide quality sport, now for you and in the future for your children and grandchildren.
I'm not wealthy but I enjoy fishing and find non-resident licences a small price for a day or three on the water. I'm just glad I don't have an expensive hobby.
