Where have the Boondockers gone?

I have been boondocking all summer in the same area as last year. Last year the forest was packed, this year no-one, did they all go to Disneyland? Don't get me wrong I am not complaining, just very different tan last year.

As the phrase goes….

“Where in the world are you” to make a statement like that?

Initiating a series of ISP traces - hopefully in a few hours I’ll have it nailed down....

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the n00bs were already
losing their enthusiasm for 'getting away from it all',
especially if there's no wifi!

.... or maybe nobody goes there anymore because they think it'll be too crowded.

Have we zeroed in on the OP location? I am waiting

We lost our taste for boondocking this summer, due to noobs with no respect. Boom boxes and racing toys all night long. At least at campgrounds there are rules and quiet hours. Maybe in the Fall when some noob activity drops, we will be back at our favorite spots.

I rarely see people when I boondock. If I do I am too close to other people. We mostly find places off the beaten path.

I checked out a few of my boondocking spots yesterday. Only 1 place had a couple of spots open . The other 3 were full so just about normal for my area.

I agree I want to know where the OP is located! We found places still pretty crowded this year, but slightly less than last year. Probably due to the newness wearing off and a realization that off-grid living is not always free and easy. Lots of campsites were closed last year too, making full-timers rely more on boondocking then before.

I think I share your theory of newness and the fact that campsites were closed last year. In any case I am happy to be alone in the forest.

On another note If you want to know more info on a you can click on the profile of the poster. In my case my location is there. I believe my question applies to all areas in general but if you must know where I am from go ahead. Social media is a strange place.

So.... you're boondocking in Phoenix? Or are you traveling in another state? Help us out here!

Seriously, very happy your favorite boondock area has given you solace.
Now can I drop a tracker on your bumper?

Boondocking/camping in AZ for nearly 50 years and have watched many areas closed or over run.

I would be happy to share the areas i boondock but not specifics as I want to keep them to myself. Yes, a little selfish. PM me if you want suggestions, let me know what area you are interested.

Nothing selfish about it. Loose lips sink ships, there have been plenty good spots exposed by the internet panhandlers present and past that are now off the road.
