Webster you asked what the Armed Forces Vacation Club is. Well check out their web site - I think you'll find it under www.afvclub.com or seach for it by the full name. I don't know how we discovered this but it is very nice. We have stayed at these condos several times. The current rate is $299.00 for 7 nights - when we started to use it the rate was $234.00 I think. We are going next week to Florida and staying in a 2 bedroom condo right on the gulf near Panama City for $299.00 and the following week we are going for another week near Vero Beach on the Atlantic - similar condo 2 bedrooms etc. They have units in alot of places but you must search frequently as different units are offered all the time. I guess they are units that are not rented so instead of leaving them empty they offer them at a reduced rate. Check them out and see what you think - we have had good luck so far.

Thanks Mimi...hadn't heard about it. We stayed at some condos in Las Vegas once...had to listen to a speech for 20 minutes. This sounds like a good program...cheaper than staying at a hotel.

But, now that we have a motor home, we prefer that and staying at FamCamps...we can leave whenever we want and go where we want....except Hawaii...for that we need Space A and the cabins on the beach which rent for $30 a night.

But, it's something to keep in mind if they have a resort where I want to go.
