Found: The Sammy B

The USS Sammuel B Roberts has been located after 78 years.
Anybody knowing the story of the Sammy B, Johnston, Hoel and rest of this heroic group can understand what this means to us sailors.

From what I gathered from WIKI she had apparently gagged her boiler safeties and raised pressure some 10%/ 660# over design pressure enabling her to charge the Japanese cruiser Chokai with a volley of 3 torpedoes, ripping off Chokai' stern. The gunner's mate in charge of the aft mount died with the last available 5" round in his hands begging for help to get it loaded even after he'd had his guts blown out by a breech explosion.
