Ft Benning/Uchee CG

Our son has been in Korea for almost a year and has orders for Ft Benning GA come August. He graduated basic there and Uchee Campground was great. Anyone know of day trips from there? Someone mentioned Warm Springs. Thinking we might hang around there a bit and then head to FL over Christmas holidays.

You'll really like that famcamp, it's very clean and neat, and real close to great fishing on the river.(part of famcamp) The trouble with day trips is that the famcamp is on the West side of Ft. Benning-outside the West back gate on the Alabama side. It's about 10 miles from anything else.
I suggest contacting Georga and Alabama tourism depts. for a list of day trips from the famcamp. Its been about 5 years since I was last there and over 16 since I was stationed there. Have you visited armymwr.comfor information?

Thanks Ray. I added that site to my fav list. I had heard about Disney Shades of Green Resort and Eddie actually stayed in Dragon Lodge briefly when he first arrived in Korea. If he can get time off and come with us we will probably stay night or two at Uchee then head for Florida.
