Things will get a bit quieter around Whidbey Island. We're close by (maybe 6 miles north of the NAS) . The Prowlers were very noisy and seemed to need quite a high power setting in "everything down" approach configuration. They also had quite a leisurely departure speed and climb rate.
Although the EA-18 is fairly noisy when in afterburner climb, it's out of sight in about 1/3 the time the Prowler took. They don't seem to need nearly as much power on approach.

Yes you are right, but they were a staple for quite a while, and other then the trainers we worked on at a school (a4's) it is kind of sad for those of us few that worked on them,,,

Thanks for sharing. I was not a pilot nor did I work on Airplanes but we are an AF family. I was in the AF 4 years (radar repair). My brother is retired AF and our Son is 19 years active duty Lt. Col. Life moves on.
