Plug for Arkansas State Parks if Disabled

I am 100% SC disabled and Arkansas State Parks give a 50 percent discount. Just have your paperwork. They also honor the Golden Access Pass for the half-off and you can actually get that if less than 100 percent. We have enjoyed several Arkansas State Parks - only found one so far we would not care to stay at and actually got a refund and left before parking the motorhome.

Currently at Lake Ouachita State Park and heading to Mount Magazine and Devil's Den afterwards.

Don't know if you have been to Bull Shoals/White River State park, but it is a nice park, just hard to get a reservation, they are always crowded

Thanks Jim - we have not tried that park as yet but it is on our list to go there. We did not make it to Devil's Den as planned but did go to Queen Wilhilmina and that was nice. We then went to McGee Creek State Park in OK and it was ok also. But generally we prefer the Arkansas parks to the OK and TX parks.

Your info is great to know. The Florida State Park system is very similar. We have been to 3 of them and loved them all. No problems getting our 39' MH into the spots. However, you need to reserve early. They do fill up quickly.

Best of luck and thanks for the information again. We plan to be visiting in Arkansas the summer of 2015.

Happy RV'ing

Your welcome George. As far as our experiences in Arkansas State Parks we like the following: (all State Parks in AR)

Lake Ouachita (very clear and nice water)
Daisy (small but nice)
Mount Magazine (highest point in Arkansas - very neat place)
Queen Wilhelmina (second highest point in Arkansas)
Wooly Hollow
Crater of Diamonds (you can look for real diamonds - not all that exciting but the park is also nice)
Talimena (another small park but well kept with care takers that have been there for several years)

Well, that is 7 Arkansas State Parks that we like and we have found the staff to be excellent and helpful overall.
