Bobby:

Good Sam is very good to join. I also signed up for the road service protection. $79 on special. We've used it once, so it has paid for itself.

While you can stay at military RV parks, it might come in handy to join Passport America. We've used it several time when there was no base RV park or it was full. You get 50% off the regular price. It has more than paid for itself with us.

If there are things you think you're going to need or want, you can save some money by joining the President's Club at Camping World. We saved over $30 on a pair of Nikon binoculars and over $20 on a Cobb Grill plus other savings on parts.

We have an RV so we're going to join FMCA (Family Motor Coach Association).

Also, check out the manufactuer of Copper Canyon to see if they have a club. These are usually free and you are with those who have the same make as you do.

I'm sure others will have clubs to join, but for us, these are the only ones we plan to join. Some will mention the new Camping World campground club...50% off like PA; however, they do not yet have that many campground members.

Yes, you can. You need to check with your VA Primary Care doctor and they can give you the particulars.

As for TriCare Prime, you might want to rethink that and just use the Standard. If you have a lot of problems, then the Prime is good to have. I don't use TriCare any longer except for my DW. Because I have TriCare and although I'm 100% VA disabled now, she is not eligible to use the VA.

If you're retired military, you can also use military health facilities as well...including you DW. You can fill your prescriptions there as well and save money.

Be sure to get a Golden Age Passport for all the National Parks. I can visit any park and not pay to get in. Also, I get 50% off campgrounds in the park system.

What % rating do you have to have to get a Golden Age passport, I have been told conflecting %.
I always thought it had to be 100%.

Emmons: I am 100% and you do have to be 100% to get it free. However, you can purchase one which is not all that expensive and it gets you into all the National Parks. Also, be sure to check with your state as they offer cards for entrance into their state parks. I believe you only have to be 50% VA disabled. I paid $5 for mine and you get into all parks for free (including camping) in California.
If you're 100% disabled, you can get free registration and DV plates on one vehicle in California. That includes the motorhome.

Emmons, check this link for the different cards offered bt the NPS. As you see there is no percentage of disability for the Golden Access, only that it be a permanent disability.
