As I have posted before one of our sons is at Ft. Benning finishing up Army basic training.

We will go down in our MH for graduation June 8th and bring him home for 21 days of leave. The strikingly good news for these parents is that his orders have changed and he will be heading for Korea for now instead of Middle East.

He has called twice to wish me Happy Mothers Day and his Dad a Happy Birthday. He likes the Army, is showing a lot of pride in himself and marked change in attitude. Ed went down to spend a family 36 hour pass with him recently. Having spent some years in the military himself even he is happily surprised at Eddie's transformation and not even out of basic yet.

I am drinking my Mother's Day tea from my Army Mom and Proud Of It cup he sent me.

An added special coincidence is that Eddie is in 2nd Infantry Division nicknamed Indian Head. My Dad was a Marine in WW1 also an Indian Head. I went and got a patch he had saved from uniform with little changed Indian Head on it. Eddie is anxious to see it and said his drill sgt was impressed and from same division. I think I got all this right

To all who served and all who serve, a Mom's appreciation on this day.
