I'm a retired Bubblehead (75-05) and so is my Father. He was COB of the Bonefish in the early 80's before the fire, RMCM/SS John O'Connor. He was on the Bonefish retrieval crew after the fire in 85...

I remember the James Monroe coming into Holy Lock while I was there. I was an electrician on the Holland, and we were the crew that would come out and drop the shore power cables from the booms to the boats. I remember going out there in the middle of the night lowering the cables by hand to the boats.
The worst part, after the boats left, we had to pull the big cables back up by hand! I remember each boat would take 3 cables.
