The last ride

Angel Flight is from the perspective of a pilot, one of several heart-pulling videos.

Awesome, brings forth the same emotions in me as watching a missing man formation, only more so with the lyrics.

Thanks for posting!

Forgive an old soldier and his memories, but I do thank you for reposting. Quite some time ago, I saved that heartfelt song to file, but seldom play it. I can't watch or listen to it without going to tears due to the memories of one incident during my service in Viet Nam. A couple of days after the Tet Offensive of '68 I got assigned as the entry controller of the Aerial Port gate between the main base and the morgue at Ton Son Nhut AB, RVN and the C-141 loading ramp. A couple of hours into my shift I looked into the distanced and saw a long line of blue AF Semis with 40 ft long trailers approaching. My heart fell and the tears welled as they got close enough for me to see their load. I realized that each trailer was lined, one high from front to end with returning ammo shipment containers that contained the remains of my brothers who gave all so that I could go home. All I could do was come to Attention, Render a Salute of Honor until the last of five trucks passed. Had several of those convoys pass that day before the end of my shift.

Thanks for posting. It did kinda make an old Herky Bird driver's eyes mist up a little.
