TRICARE pharmacy benefits
Thought I'd relate my experience with CVS pharmacy and Express-scripts. I've been having problems since Jan.1 2015 with Express-scripts repeatedly saying I have OHI=other health insurance. Only yesterday did find out that every time you use the CVS Extra Rewards Card to fill a short-term script (30 days or less), the Express-scripts computer program interprets it as having OHI, and automatically enters it in the system as such. This immediately stops Express-scripts from filling your prescriptions.
Directly from Express-scripts customer service. "Do not ever allow use the CVS card when paying for prescriptions, or even using your phone number for computer ID".

Ray,
I'm not sure I understand what is causing the problem.
I've had a prescription for Nexium from Express Scripts for about 8 years now, and during that time I've had numerous short term scripts filled at our CVS without any problem. My wife usually picks up the CVS meds and always pays and uses her CVS Rewards card.
Maybe I'm missing something in your post.

I can't say for certain that is fact, just what I was told 2 days ago by customer service rep at Express-Scripts.Time will tell.

I have had the same issue and found out that when I signed up for the card I had a different insurance and each time I used the card it would default to that insurance, which of course was not valid anymore. I also have Medicare and Tricare for Life. Just get a new card or don't use one for paying for prescriptions.

Your explanation sounds very plausible. Thanks for the information.

This sounds like a problem that is fixable. It might take jumping through a few hoops and a few phone calls. I know it's frustrating. When I retired from Boeing, it took numerous phone calls and filling out a paper form stating that I did not have OHI. I know it's a hassle, but whenever you have a third party paying for your drugs, they have rules that must be followed. And often the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. I was in line at Scott AFB to get FREE drugs. A guy sitting next to me complained for so long, I finally said, "why don't you go to CVS, and avoid this hassle? Free drugs just aren't worth it." He became very quiet. Good luck.

To end this; I found out the CVS card only allows them to track your expenditures and credit reward points/coupons to your account. I made much too-do about nothing.
