Cool Vietnam War Veteran

My name is Tommy Tabor of Thibodaux, Louisiana. I was in The Nam 1970 / 1971. Was in Dian for 8 months and then ship to Khe Sanh , for Dewey Canon II Operation. I would like to meet any Nam Vet, especially ones who were stationed in my Nam neighbors. Take care my friends and to ALL Veterans , Welcome Home.

1/27 Wolfhounds 70-71

I am Army infantry and was down in Cu Chi about 40 miles northwest of Saigon. Of course that was 25th infantry division headquarters so I was in the bush most of the time.

Glad you made it back.

I got a ticket going into Long Binh driving a jeep. I ask the M.P. if he was serious and he said ( serious as a heart attack ). We were in a combat zone and here he is writing tickets. Well, like me, he had a job to do. No problem ,when I got back to base the LT. Colonel said he would take care of it and he did.

USS Everett F. Larson (DD830) 1969-70. Witnessed the aftermath when the HMS Melbourne cut the USS Evans in half during a SEATO operation. Horrible experience. The same thing almost happened to us the night before. Simulating war conditions with darkened ship and moonless night. Somewhere about 100 men went down that night-RIP.

Welcome a Home Brother!
For the first two weeks I drove a 5ton tractor trailer bringing supplies up to Khe Sanh from DaNang in convoys. After that I was put in charge of a P.O.L. Detachment. My friend them was 10,000 Gal. Rubber fuel tanks & Charlie didn't want me on top of that mountain with all that fuel suppling the A.R.V.I.N.'s with fuel so they could go into North Viet Nam.

My neighbor " Kerry Mathews " was there. I worked a claim for him for PTSD. Unfortunately he passed away 2 years ago.

Welcome home brother. Glad you made it back. I was with the 666th Transportation Company in Qui Nhon Feb 69. Stayed there for 6 months. We ran the road from Qui Nhon to Pleiku with all kinds of supply. The next 6 months I spent in Pleiku as a door gunner for the 189th Assault Helicopter. Finished my tour there. Left Feb 1970.
