Warning about CVS

They will no longer accept Tricare effective 1 Dec. 16.

I wonder why?

There has been an ongoing snit between Tricare and Walgreen's for years now. I'm sure the switch is all part of a negotiation.
Since we are retired and use Express Scripts for everything but an occasional onetime RX its a non issue. I just remember to go to Rite Aide

It's my understanding to my wife's dismay Walgreens bailed on Tri Care about a year or so ago.

Edit;
It's good to see that will change come 1 December this year.

Thanks for the update. Get most Rx from the VA, but occasionally when using non VA provider and of course, for the wife's occasional drugs.

New contract negotiation. Walgreens in, CVS out! after Nov 1 if you use CVS you pay up front full price "out of network" and file with Tricare for reimbursement.
If you are Tricare eligible, sign up for their email news.

Full information here.
Open the link to participating pharmacies, enter your zip code and a list of participating pharmacies appears. As stated, CVC will be replaced by Walgreens 1 Dec.
Not a big deal if you follow the recommendations.

Not to derail the thread but......

Am I the only one that uses Expresscripts and they screw it all up?? They were sending me about a years supply of two of my meds. When I called them about it they had somehow put in a request for the name brand AND the generic at the same time!!! It would seem pretty simple to count out 90 days and then send new meds but math seems awfully hard for them!

Like many I only use a drugstore for an occasional one time request.

AS usual, I went to nearby Target pharmacy last week for my Flu Shot. Did not know they were now CVS until I saw it on the paperwork. Still No charge but did not know about the pending change..

Googy1, Express Scripts has worked well. Some glitches when they expanded a couple years ago.

Everyone should be glad, far more Walgreens than CVS. More convenience.
