What military discounts relating to RVing do you find useful?

Hello from Roger, USAF retired.

After being retired for some time, I only recently found out about the 15% discount Verizon offers retire military folks.

Military FamCamps and base facilities are of course a benefit, but what other RVing related military discount offers do you find useful?

Not a discount but also useful is the military campground GPS/mapping software Points of Interest (POI) file.

What do you have to share with the group?

Don't have any discounts to add, but just a welcome from another Air Force Retiree.

Welcome to IRV2.

USA RV Park - Home

USA RV Park in Gallup, NM gives veterans and retirees a small discount and active duty military stay free. There may be more out there but I haven't found them.

I have found that some RV Parks will give 10% if you ask. A few years ago I was given a 15% discount at the KOA in South Padre Island, TX.

I've found the discount some CGs give is comparable to what they give for AAA, seniors, Good Sam, etc. I've learned always to ask. As an aside, I once jokingly asked for a discount for my DW's green eyes, and got another 10% off.

You could go to my blog ( Thom and Chris: Federal and State Park Pass information ) to see what discounts are available for your state and the fed parks.

Maybe a little off topic, but for those Veterans who use gasoline or diesel, please see this link for the next time you are filling up.

Not all Big Oil is bad.

RV.Net Open Roads Forum: Net help / Ideas from Military Veterans

Also, FYI, many states are now putting your Veteran Status on Drivers License. I live in Texas and was able to put my status on my DL.

Be sure to check out Pentagon Federal Credit Union cash rewards card. You get 5% back on every gallon of gas you purchase, no strings attached. So while others are spending $3.35 per gallon, I'm spending $3.18. You can do it all on line, don't have to go there in person.

I have found out over the years that the worse I can get for asking is a, "No."
