Diego Garcia BIOT 72 to 73. Ran the sailing club and had a local radio show. One of the best years of my life. Especially liked the 2 week basket leave in Bangkok.

Arch, it was a Univac 1050-II. Massive beast with a lot of quirks. We had on site field engineers in Alaska to keep that thing going.

My very first day at work with Univac I had to break down a 1050 system for shipping. The Air Force used them a lot for inventory/supplies.

Yeah, 12 years, active duty enlisted, at one base. Changed field after 4 years, then started college at 7, and turned down an assignment at 11 as I was trying to get out with an early release.
