Fighting Coast Guard. 1958-1960, Alameda, CA CG base, 12 miles from home. 23rd and E 14th Street was a combat zone of sorts.

Navy to Army
My Father and three Uncles served in the Navy, so I joined the Navy. I quickly understood why they did not make it a career, Destroyer Escort, constantly at sea, not conducive for a good marriage. I enjoyed the military, so I joined the Army and found a home. November will make 46 years my wife and I have been married.

When and where you stationed in Germany? I was in Mainz/Finthen 76-78 and in Wiesbaden 88-90.
