US Army 1963-2004, those numbers add up to active army and TX National Guard. enlisted 63-67, flight engineer on Caribou; Armor OCS in 67.
Ft Eustis, VA
Libya, Iran, and other interesting places 64-65
Ft Knox, KY
RVN 68-69, 3/5th Armored Cavalry, MACV late 68-69.
Ft Knox, KY
Ft Sam Houston, TX
Ft Hood, TX
Camp Mabry, TX
Tacoma, WA

Mixed in those years was a career on the Western Rivers as a towboat captain when the lure of the Army wasn't calling me back for more time.
Loved every second of it. Fun, Thrills, Adventure.

AF 27 years with a five year break in active duty and AF reserve time going to college fulltime, then resuming my active duty career. I was almost drafted with draft number 7 in 1971 when i realized i had no chance so I ran from the Army draft and enlisted in the AF. Was a medic and then Medical Lab technologist until I found a better way to draw blood with no AIDS risk . . . the M-16 and did my last 20 years in weapons as Combat Arms Instructor/Manager.

Smile Military

My husband is a Vietnam Veteran, 100% disabled from his injuries in Nam. He was in the US Army, 101st ABN Div and was medically retired after serving 3 mos in Vietnam. I am also a military brat - my Daddy served in the USAF for 20 years, so this lifestyle is something I'm very familiar with. My husband and I are fulltimers since I retired in Nov 2007 and we stay mainly at military bases. We enjoy the camaraderie, the safety we feel on post/base, the PRICES and the amenities.
