I arrived at GLNTC 6/6/66, 2days before my 18th birthday. Kiddie Cruiser!! Finished ET A school in mid March 67 with low temps below zero, got to Key West and it was in the 80’s. Originally from Atlanta so was happy to leave the deep freeze.

USN Nov 80-Jan 93, NR-SA to FC1, making fireballs 100 NM away
USS LONGBEACH CGN-9 (Bremerton and SD)
USS REEVES CG-24 (Yokosuka Japan)
USS CALIFORNIA CGN-36 (Bremerton
with a couple of stops in Great Mistakes and Mare Island(CSTSC)
started out chipping paint on the Focsle of the LONGBEACH, struck FTM and after schools worked on the AN/SPG/55B Mod 9-11 fire control radar, after a couple of years on the REEVES home ported in Yoko traveling the orient landed back at CSTSC Mare Island for instructor duty, after going to AN SPS/48E air search radar and back to Bremerton and a yard stint on the CALIFORNIA as LPO.

Went in when president Reagan took office and got out when President Clinton took office, I think the best years of being in the NAVY.

Just purchased a 2005 Alpine 36' FDDS, cant wait to do some traveling.

You been AWOL all this time in Florida? Lol. I was Infantry for 7 years but got out in 1972 and went to 810 MP Company Reserve in Tampa, FL

Lol I wish my little brother was still alive. He was on some kind of Sub out of New Port News or Roda Spain. They switched crews after 6 months. I was Army so don't know much. It was a President, I think, Alexander Hamilton.

I was on 2 troopships 65-66. Leroy Eltinge and General Walker. Took me years to even want a boat after that. Alaska to Hawaii, Hawaii to Vietnam. Welcome Aboard
