Thanks for the heads up. I went thru Great Lakes for boot and flew 2-1/2 years on the Pacific Barrier in 58-61. Never heard of this. Really fascinating. I did pass it on to my fellow airmen at www.willyvictor.com.

The Naval aviation Museum here in PCola is restoring this aircraft recovered from Lake Michigan in 2012 .Lost during carrier training in 1944... No idea when it will be on display..

Believe it or not, in the early 70's I was boating on Lake Michigan and saw a PT Boat in the Waukegan area. Also, there was a young guy whose father had bought him a 1 man sub that he cruised the lake in. Thanks for the links. Bob T
