How do you find good groomers when you are on the road. This is for our Lhasa Apso not my husband. Sally

We began grooming our English Springer ourselves several years ago when we became unsatisfied with the results (and especially the cost) of professional groomers. We found a book in a pet store (Petco, Petsmart, etc.) on how to do the grooming on various breeds and just learned to do it ourselves. This has worked out quite well while on the road. We cover the picnic table with an old sheet. One of us holds the dog and the other does the grooming. If you decide to try this, buy a good electric trimmer, not the $20 variety.

As an alternative, I believe most Petco stores (and quite possibly other chains) have in-store grooming. You are still at the mercy of the individual doing the grooming, but hopefully the store maintains some quality control.

I agree
I groom and bathe Maddie myself.
I never was much for "professionals" and even more so after one called my Maddie, "it"

For anyone traveling our way, maybe going to Crater Lake, Klamath Fall has one of the best pet facilities I have experienced. It is privately owned Double-C Pet Training. Check the link. You'll never have your baby called an 'It' there www.double-c.com
