Can I slip in here as an ex-show participant? We bred, raised and showed shelties for about 20 years in Texas and the surrounding states. Now that we are retired to a community that only allows two animals per house, our show days are over. We did, however, just come back from the Dallas Specialty this past weekend where we picked up a 1 year old female dog to complete our family.

We spent the better part of '05 and '06 in your neck of the woods, volunteering as CG hosts at Tugman, Cape Blanco, and Sunset Bay SPs and really miss the area and people. Hope you have a great Turkey Day.

We will be spectating at the Central Florida Kennel Club, Inc. AB/JSHW Orlando Sat 12/15/2007 with our Aussies. Plus this trip we have a new litter (not available) that we will be joining us in the MH.

Here is the litter:

This year we may start showing our 4yr old tri, JT's Rex of Hamilton, if all goes well.

If any one else is heading to this show let me know. We would love to root for yours.

Golden...
We had a great "Turkey Day".. Thank you! Oregon is a great place..I am enjoying it immensely!
As far as Shelties..The smartest dog we ever owned was a Sable Sheltie. "Brandy" was the most gentle & smartest dog we ever owned..but on the flipside.."Lady" was also the dumbest dog we ever owned...and she was also a Sheltie..but I was young when we got her and I can now see the difference in the breeders and the quality.
Thank You for some fond memories...

Hi Guys and Gals,
Awsome dogs all of them!!
My wife (Jo) and I show two Norwich terriers, male and female. The 3 year old male is finished and the 10 month old female has yet to get a point on her.

We used to breed and show PBGV's (Petit Basset Grifffon Vendeon) in Alaska and now only have one retired champion female along on the ride.

We are taking a month off and are traveling down to Mesa, Arizona for a month but will be in Indio, CA for the Palm Springs show the first weekend in January.

Here is our website. www.geocities.com/jombri

Unfortunately the young one is not in there yet.

If you see a Safari Cheetah on the road or parked with an Alaska license plate with JOMBRI, that would be us. Stop by and say hi.

Tom,

We will also be at the Palm Springs show! We'll definitely look for you guys!! We live in Gilbert, AZ which is right next to Mesa.

Norwiches are nice dogs--have a friend who raises and shows Norfolks. She tried to get us to take a puppy but I can't deal with that energy

We also had a PBGV for a few days a number of years ago. We had bought what we were told by the breeder was a show quality male--we were looking for a Specials dog. He was sent from the Pacific Northwest at about a year old. Jeffrey went to the airport to pick him up and we had 2 friends look at him--2 PBGV judges who told us to immediately return him as he was not even show quality! Plus to be honest, the mastiffs were NOT enthralled with the little rugrat running around nippin at their heals and WHINING incessantly! They would not hurt a flea but they would run from him whenever he approached--kind of funny to see

Will look for you at the Norwich ring or for your rig. We have a 38 green and tan diplomat with 3 slides with AZ plates.

Hi Karen,
Well met! We'll see you in Palm Springs.
I'm sorry that your PBGV wasn't show quality, and there are waaaaay too many of those out there. In fact I'm pretty darn sure who that breeder is and unfortunately she is still breeding and showing! I won't say her name, but are her dogs too low to the ground and real snaky like? Sort of like she was trying to make longhaired dachshunds?
Anywaaaay......have a great show season with the mastiffs. How many in the motorhome at one time BTW?

Thank-you MonacoMama for the Dogshow Post!! Your the best!

We have traveled with all 5 of them. Last weekend in Tucson we took all 5. For Eukanuba we'll only take 3 most likely. In P/S don't know yet. Gets expensive hiring a pet sitter to spend the night with the old girl (11 years which is DARN old for a giant dog) and a younger one, Luna, who doesn't get along with her mother Often on the shorter trips or ones where we know the grass is close, we take everyone. Interesting juggling act with Luna and Spice not being good friends but baby gates are great in the MH.

So when we have everyone we come close to our max weight with water, propane--the 5 mastiffs alone weigh about 850 lbs!! The reason why we have 2 slideouts up front--need that floor space . then add the food--we feed raw so we have a spare freezer in the basement for their food-------packing for a show is an ordeal but we love it!

Looking forward to meeting you in Palm Springs and if the Norwiches need exercise while you are in Mesa, give a holler. We do canine physical therapy in Gilbert--surrounded by dogs all day We have a Jog a dog--canine treadmill, underwater treadmill and a heated pool--all for the dogs--what a life huh?

MOM2MASTIFFS, I've seen you on the dog forums too and had no idea you lived in the neighborhood.
MonocoMomma you know I love your little min pins.
I don't have showdogs but I love the dogshows.
I have two IGs and a temporary foster minpin
that never got a tail docking but she's a sweetheart.
Good luck in your shows everybody, and be safe.
