Drive through vet visit

Our dogs need their rabies shots and yearly checkup. Got an appointment for Thursday. You stay in the car a vet tech takes the dogs inside and vet calls you on your cell during the exam.

That's a great idea. Maybe more will do the same. Keeps everybody fairly safe.

Just went through this with our new pup tonight. You call from the parking lot with your spot number, the tech takes a history over the phone and then comes out and gets your pet. The Vet then calls at the end of the exam with an update and answers questions.
Don't forget to thank them for staying open during this pandemic.

Pediatricians should have done this years ago.

Tomorrow at 5:30 pm I will be taking Winkie, my oldest, to the vet. The vet called today and we will be doing the "drive-thru" method too!

Today's vet visit for Winkie went well!
Got to Banfield's parkinglot, gave them a call. Went to front door and met the vet tech who took Winkie in. I went shopping next door until they called me when his visit was done. Picked him up on the way out.

Looks like vets must be sharing notes.

Did this a few days ago in the Indy area.

Same setup, call from parking lot, tech gets on the phone takes all the info, then comes out with his own slip fit leash and took our 1yr old (Willow) in.

Then Vet call when all was done with update on her infection, medicine and care plan. Vet then transferred us to the front desk, so we could pay over the phone.

Worked really well, even if it wasn't possible to quite practice social distancing with the tech during hand offs.

Our visit went the same way, two dogs, two techs, both with masks and gloves came and got our dogs.

We got the new heart worm shot that lasts a year, one and done makes it easy.
