Hi All. I've been away from the message boards for awhile because I lost my beloved Sally. I simply couldn't face RVing without her and reading the boards was just too difficult. I'm crying now just remembering. There's no doubt that Sally and I will meet again at the Rainbow Bridge. I didn't think I would ever have another dog, but fate had another plan. We found another dog that needed a home and we got her just in time. She's about 7 months old and a very, very mixed breed. Her name is now Rags and I'm sure she will be a really good camper. No matter what, I'll always be

Glad you have gotten to that stage already and chose to rescue. We have decided to wait for a while (long while) before even thinking about adopting again. KC passed only a few weeks ago... I have a hard time seeing other dogs. But when the time is right, we will rescue another dog. I figure we give them the best life we can and lots of love. That's our job while we have them.

Sallys Mom:

Good for you. We had an aging Sheltie and knew he was not going to last much longer. We wondered at times how long we would wait after our beloved Sheltie left us to get another dog.

Well, one Memorial Day weekend we were headed out to get some dinner and saw a cute little mixed breed fur ball sitting on the side of the road. We stopped to get him out of the dangerous road. He jumped into my wife's arms. We tried to find any owner nearby but no one claimed him. We took him home, removed ticks, fleas, bathed and fed him. That was nearly 4 years ago and he has been the best dog we've ever had. Our beloved Sheltie died about 4 months after we found Bear. It was meant to be.

Ain't no love like puppy love....

WOW - your Bear looks very much like my Sally. So glad to know that you have another pal in your life and I'm sure Bear is very glad to be with you. According to my grandgirls - dogs make you feel like a Rock Star!

This was Bear day 2 after we rescued him. No way could a dog lover leave this little guy on the road:

Our traveling companions just started their own family last Sunday morning. Guess we will be adding one of them to our list of traveling companions. Wish we could keep them all.

Bluewind, we'll most likely be having our new litter of Pedigreed, Purebred, and Gorgeous (if I do say so myself!) Cavalier King Charles Spaniels (probably while we're traveling) within the next two weeks! Good thing it's a lovely and comfortable "home away from home" that our dogs LOVE! Congrats to you!

Thanks again MonacoMama!

I moved the photos (pending) to the Pet Photos and it gives me great pleasure to know she is there. She was one of those "best-est" dogs that come along once in a lifetime!
