First post on this topic... Try and keep up. So now you pretend to know me ? I forgot nothing.. Simply adding a smiley face after a rude and offending comment give that person a pass and now makes it ok ? Auh.. No... Nice try ...

We use a MarCell sensor for temps. It's portable so we move it from the RV to the house and soon the van depending on the location of the dogs.

I'm currently building a solar generator/ battery backup with a 24v 314ah lithium battery and a 4000w inverter. When complete we'll be able to hook up 1000w of solar panels to it. And it will have 30amp built in charger to charge off AC when plugged in.
It will have a transfer switch so I can plug it into a 30amp power post and then plug the rv into the solar generator. If we loose power at the post it will automatically switch over to battery power. And have enough power to run the air conditioner for about 3hrs or so. This is for when we are away and our dog is in the motorhome, to keep him cool if there is a power outage while we are not there.
When not camping, I'm going to hook it up to our deep freeze and refrigerator to protect from power loss.

We found a suitable van at last. 2010 Chevy Express 15 passenger former church van. Very low mileage at 81K. It's optioned very well but lacks a back up camera. That's easily rectified in the aftermarket.
All of the cargo vans we looked at had huge numbers on the odometer and big numbers on the price stickers. I was about to give up. We gave $19K and change for the unit and will come close to that for the diesel dually we'll be selling.
We took delivery yesterday and some of the rear seats are going to the scrap yard today. I'm saving the brackets that those seats were mounted to as they solidly attach to the floor and will make solid anchor points once I figure out how I want to configure the kennels.
The first thing will probably be the AC setup. There are some small mini splits out there but I'll probably go with a normal RV roof unit. I'm also considering a side wall generator enclosure but will probably go with a hitch mounted cage when we are traveling without the TT.

You might want to check out IRV2's sister site, sportsmobileforum.com. Although most of their posts have to do with full van conversions, many have relevance to what you're doing, including air conditioning, flooring, etc.
https://www.sportsmobileforum.com/forums/
As a sister site, I think your IRV2 login will work.

Thanks for the link, very kind of you.
First use towing 8800 lbs TT the other day. The van did well but so different from the dually/5ers we've had for the last 10 years.
