Two cats new to motorhome eclipse trip

Traveled from Michigan to Kentucky to see the eclipse.
Brought two cats.
One was very laid back and slept most of the time.
The other stinker would always try and escape.
Squirt guns helped keep the escape artist inside.

After getting to the farmer's grass field, we put bot on a leash.
Both ere very happy to be outside so they could munch on grass.

After awhile the escape artist decided that he wanted back in and never tried to escape again even with the door left open.

Both slept most of the way home with no issues.

This was a trial run for the one month trip to Maine in the future.

Great ideas. I was concerned about traveling with my cat, now I think I'll try a test run to see how it goes.

We have two cats that travel with us. Our orange and white boy, Rusty, has been across the U.S. fifteen times in our motorhome and Penny has been across 9 times. When we check in to a campground and they ask us about pets, we tell them we have 2 1/2 cats because Rusty is so big. We take him out on a leash and people ask if he's a cat or a dog. They both travel well. Rusty sleeps most of the time and Penny disappears as soon as I start the engine.

Just be very aware of their 'exact location' PRIOR to operating slides......in/out (same goes for small dogs)
And closing of compartment doors....here kitty, kitty

Plus IF they do happen to 'escape' most cats do NOT come when called...so avoid that experience as much as possible

Cats can be taught proper harness/leash etiquette (Harness........never just leash on collar) but it takes time/repetition

Proper etiquette

Typical cat on a leash

But real reason you want your cat on a harness/leash
Close 'encounters' of the unwelcome kind
