Waggle temperature monitor in Canada

For my pet loving friends: Waggle Pet Temperature monitor sold in the United States does not work in Canada, but the one sold in Canada works on all the cellular platforms in Canada and the US. We just got off the phone with them and they are exchanging ours at no charge. Great customer service!

Prices for the Waggle temperature monitor are all over the place from $76 to $295.

Looks like there's a competitor called Temp Stick which starts at $139. battery life is 1-2 years.

The problem I see with this, while it's a great service to have for our dogs in the camper, is that campground WIFI is usually so bad. Unless of course you are parked next to a router on a pole somewhere close. I'd say for us that is the exception, as many campgrounds seem to begrudge their campers good WIFI.

You might experience a hot day where you need to leave your pets at home and find that that particular campgound has poor WIFI, so your investment in a temperature monitor wouldn't even work.

THese days many campers have their RV equipped with some form of dedicated WiFI internet access.
Via hotspot, wireless router or Starlink.
The days of relying on the campground to supply wifi are fading.

I thought maybe we could leave my wife's phone in the camper with the hotspot turned on. She just uses her phone for the occasional email and reading news.

We do need something for several days in July when it can be hot and we have to leave the dogs in the RV wile we manage a charity event nearby. I always worry that there could be a power lapse and the A/C could swich off without our knowing.

Just not into paying $200 a month for Starlink or buying a $500 system for the RV when we are only using it maybe 2 months of the year.
