We have as you can see, a Doberman. We have been refused admission to 2 CG. I guess you could say, it's our fault for owning such a dog, but we've owned 4. What I don't understand is what the problem is about, if the owners of the dog, who should know whether their dog is trust worthy or not have homeowners insurance, it would not be the CG responsibility, it is the owner of the animal.

Yes Have seen a few dogs banned , but never a mention of Boxers. I assume it is a friendly well behaved dog.

Our member owned campground prohibits German Sheperds, Chow Chows, Rottweilers, Dobermans and breeds they consider offensive.
They'll allow Goldens and Labs, however.
Unfortunately most campers with dogs have little yappers that make too much noise at inopportune hours.
I just wish the campground would procure a couple of Goldens or Labs to keep the 2 bear families away at night.

Have you had boxers before? Like all dogs and especially those that are as strong as boxers, they need training and socialization. Boxers are like magnets at campgrounds and will attract kids of all ages so it's important that they are well trained.
We've not had any problem with campgrounds accepting our pups and I've never seen a boxer on a banned list. There are some CGs that limit the size of dogs though but we were accepted in a CG that did have a weight restriction after I asked specifically about it.

In 16 yrs of RV'in, as a general rule I've not found boxer's to be on the prohibited lists. We had a yellow lab for 13 yrs and did find some parks that imposed a weight limit. One memorable park in Apache Junction had a five pound limit. And it seemed like every rig had two each. Not somewhere I'd wanta stay. On a personal note, I have had friends that had a boxer and he would bite. Like people, dogs can be dogs. just sayn

I don't see any rhyme or reason to pet limitations in RV parks. We have three Papillons. Whenever I make reservations I always tell them we have three and have been refused reservations by only one CG that had a 2 pet limit. There have been several occasions when we checked into a CG and read the rules only to find there was a 2 pet limit but management never said anything to us about them.

Don't ban the dogs...
It's not dogs that need to be banned from RV parks. It's the owners of some dogs that need to be banned.
Practicing my curmudgeonly act so I can be more like Mel.

CG Management often cites breed exclusions based on their insurance company coverage/exclusion.

Dogs should not be banned on a blanket basis, owners are the key and they should be banned if their animal is unruly.
We traveled with a great dane and never were refused entry. She was far better trained than I was.

How is the campground to know if you are a responsible owner?
It usually comes after an incident that the person is found irresponsible.
We had 2 Jack Russell's and neither one was trustworthy not to bite. We always kept them leashed and warned people approaching. They never bit anyone in our travels and were known to make a few friends.
There always seems to be the people that let their dogs run through the campground unleashed and that is what makes it bad for everyone else.
I don't mind following the rules and am glad they are there for others to have to follow as well.

Different breeds of dogs, like other domestic animals, have been genetically engineered for specific traits.
Until someone trains up a Shetland Pony to win the Kentucky Derby I will continue to believe that genetics matter.
