Why extra charge for inside cats
We have adopted and cared for 4 cats over the last 35 years. Our cat (1) never goes outside - we have screened in porches at home and when the weather permits, the cat has pedestal on which to perch and watch the animals and happening outside.
One of the first things we did after getting our MH was to introduce the cat to her new coach. The same situation prevails ion the MH - the cat never sets paw outside.
MY Question is WHY IS THERE AN EXTRA CHARGE FOR PET(S) for animals that don't go outside the coach? Does this charge apply to fish or parrots or hamsters? If it does, why?
Inquiring mind wants to know.

Pets = Dogs. At every KOA I have been to, they asked about pets, when I said I have a cat, they said 'no, we want to know about dogs'. So, Cats are not pets only dogs.

x-2. We travel with indoor cats all the time. In 80,000 miles of travel almost always staying at commercial campgrounds we have never been charged for the cats.

CG Pet Rules/Policy,,,,,,,got a PET you pay for PET
Have you actually been charged Extra for your inside CAT?
If so....what did that CG tell you for reason??
And what CG was this at?
IF you told them they probably would not charge for an Indoor PET...be it cat, gold fish, parrot, monkey
*Course they may cause you have a PET and it MAY go outside......
Bottom line.....bet it has to do with their Insurance Policy
Those underwriters can get particular about coverage

Dogs are pets because you are their master.
Cats aren’t pets because you are their servant.

Most places we’ve been to ask “how many dogs” to which I truthfully say, 2.
But if they ask pets, it’s 8 but then I let them know that the cats are indoors only. Usually, they don’t care about cats, esp inside only.
If they charged extra, I’d find another RV park.

We have one cat. When the pets question comes up we always answer no.

Yes, you obviously did not hear my cocker spaniel fussing at my wife to feed her this morning while I was in the shower.
I have pretty much camped at state parks, have never been asked the pet question. My wife might refuse to stay at a place that charged for our 4-legged children. They cause a whole lot less damage than some of the 2-legged children I have observed at campgrounds.

I don't think I have ever been charged extra for my dog. If I had, I really never noticed but we seldom have stayed at a KOA anyway.

Last time I stayed in an actual RV park with my coach, I was evacuating from a hurricane and had 19 cats inside my RV with me.
They asked how many "pets" and I said "no dogs" and they said "ok, here's your site number" and that was that.
Cats were in the front window all day long, nobody said boo. If the park had tried to charge for them, I would have found someplace else. Is the park going to charge extra if I have artistic painting supplies inside? Throw rugs? triple-ply underwear? If it doesn't affect their location or ever leave the RV, it's none of their business.
And I would NEVER let my kitties out of the RV, they are indoor only and live much happier safer lives for that. At home they have a secured and screened catio space that they love, but they know in the RV that it is "stay far away from the door" time.
