I just got back from Wrocking Waco Texas. My fellow workamper has a woman friend there, a real Texas good ol' gal, who's a TASA (that's Texas Assn. of Single Adults). So we went up on Thurs., went touring and dancing Friday, touring and dancing Saturday, and touring and dancing Sunday. By which time, my people/noise limit was reached. The last hour of the Sun. night dance I spent in the car, being quiet and alone. Came back through heavy rain as far as Austin and am now happily ensconced in my own rig with no noise. Had a good time and am glad it's over.

Sounds like a good time! I know what you mean about the noise though - I never understood why dances had to have such LOUD music. That plus the chatter . . . instant headache!! Nothing like a true Texan to know how to have a good time, huh?

Yep, sometimes volume substitutes for talent, it seems. The bands were good, though, whatever they played. I've put some pics on my blog (not of the dancing stuff but the touring stuff).

Lots of things going on.. I'm getting ready to leave for the FMA rally on Monday the 15th. I really needed to flush out the water lines and put some water in them to make sure I had no leaks, and guess what? ..no leaks
I thought about washing it but hey, 20% chance of rain today, so I only washed the wheels and tires.. by 4pm it rained.. sometimes it's good to procrastinate.
I went to the store to stock upon food and supplies, but seeing that the rally is at Terribles Casino and RV park, I ended up only buying tons of junk food. Terribles has a great buffet so why cook!!

I'm here... Terribles Casino & RV Park
Mostly RV Park.. Casino is very small but nice.
You have to pay for wifi.. 12.95 for 3 days.

We went to a brothel today

Because of the weather, only 35 motohomes made the trip.. Even I took the longway around.. only 20 miles more.

Tomorrow we're goin on a winery tour.. who would have guessed you could grow grapes in the desert!

LOL... This is the desert, they would have fit, but we caravaned in toads. The place was actualy very nice and very upscale. There are a bunch of different theme rooms... like the Budwiser Room, the Bubble Room, etc. Plus.. I've gotta say.. the ladies are NOT like what you see standing on street corners..

Rick - it is SO good to see you out and about! Even if it is to a brothel and a casino - LOL!! Hope you're having fun. The weather has been nuts out here hasn't it??? And I've got to check out the origin of Terribles - I've seen gas stations around here with that name.

I spent 4 days at the awesome Pyrotechnic Convention in Lake Havasu - boondocking across the road from the racetrack where it was held. 4 nights of unbelievably gorgeous fireworks, fireballs . . . that went on for hours. Most were choreographed to music . . . honestly, I've seen fireworks in San Diego, Mt. Rushmore and Washington, DC . . . these were, hands down, the BEST. Of course they would be- the companies come here to show of their new products. They will be having this again in October and I'd love to be able to juggle the Balloon Festival AND this even so I could see it again. Next time, I will venture across the road and sit in the bleachers . . . lots of stuff was going on in the racetrack area that I couldn't see from the hill.

On the downside - I was following friends into the boondocking area and didn't see where they entered - I went in the only entrance that I could see and it was too deep for me to cross - got my rig hung up on the spare tire with zero traction on the rear wheels. A saint in a Ford truck came along and pulled me out after I took off my entire tow hitch. Another guy there helping to get me out made me feel better by telling me that he got his Class C hung up there earlier in the day. And before the day was out, a big 40' diesel got totally crunched coming in - tore up the fiberglass front cap and rear on his rig. He was literally suspended front and rear in the dirt and rocks - no traction. The same truck pulled him out too - but with not as positive results as my rescue. They didn't try to come back in - they went on down the road.

There is another bumpy but good entrance - you just can't see it from the north side of the road. Honestly, I was hoping the city or county would put up a NO RV sign to keep anyone else from having the same problem . . .

Saturday night there were so many people there, you couldn't move . . . and it's a popular ATV area so I left after the fireworks to a more secluded area in southern California. Now I have limited use of my cell phone and NO use of my Verizon Air Card!! Ah, the joys of boondocking!!

I just got back from the FMA rally at Terribles Casino & RV Park, in
Pahrump Nevada. Sorry you guys weren't there, we had a great time!

Yes it rained the first day, sprinkled the second and was very cold
with fresh snow on the mountains but it warmed up to tee shirt
weather by the end.

I'm not sure what was the most fun, the tour of a brothel, wine
tasting at the winery, trip to Scotty's Castle in Death Valley or the
evening with the Nevada Silver Tappers (yes they're old ladies that
tap dance, but damn it was fun).

Fleetwood supplied all meals and the food was really good, not sure
if breakfast or dinner was my favorite.

After two days my batteries died even though I was on a 30 amp
service, so I asked the Fleetwood techs (one flew in from Indiana,
the other 2 drove from LA with a trailer full of tools and parts)
about it and they volunteered to look at it (this is a '99 Bounder so
no warranty). They not only tested it out and came to the same
conclusion that I did, bad Converter, they went over and pulled one
out of their trailer and installed it for FREE!!!! Now Thats
Service.. Thanks again Randy!

Hi Rick. Sounds like you had a good time. Still think 35 RV's at a brothel is too many.
Good to hear your experience with Fleetwood. They are alway getting bashed, but I know of many many situations where they went the extra mile for a customer. I live just 35 miles from their Decatur Indiana plants. They are big business in this part of the world.

I was watching TV and President Obama was in Indiana somewhere. They listed all the RV manufacturers in or near the city where he was speaking. I had no idea that most of them are made there.

Also I had no idea there were so many Amish in Indiana.

Corn, car parts and motorhomes, thats Indiana. I lived there for a few years.

Yesterday was Super YUCK!!! Day....

Like GraciesMom, I had a leaky Black Tank Valve. While in Pahrump this past week, I flushed my tanks several times and the last day, I almost filled my Black Tank and drained to get it really clean...

IT DIDN'T WORK!!!!!

When I took the valve out.. the most Disgusting, Foul Smelling, Yucky... Wait, there must be better words, or maybe there are no words to describe what drooled, dripped, plopped out, all over the bottom of the bay.

Excuse me.. gotta go barf again...

Bottom line... it's fixed and hope I never have to do that again!!
