Feeling safe

I have only been fulltime RV couple months. I live in a small campground. What do you do about knowing storm weather is coming. I don't normally watch loc as l channels. The other night I get a message at 11pm " Hope you got somewhere safe tropical storm hitting where you are at 12am" I had no idea it was even out there and I have a nose weather alert and it did not go off. To late to do anything except ride it out. And it was very scary. I put a weather alert on phone any other suggestions? Don't want to do that again.

There are quite a few Apps that will give you weather alerts. I have been using Weather Bug. It will text to my cell phone if there is bad weather near me. The App is free.

Is your weather alert radio properly configured for your location?

Your phone is a good option and newer smartphones have built in emergency alert support so you don't need an app, though the apps can be nice.

Weather radio is the best bet.

That might of been why it did not alarm. It was my moms. I kept messing with it and I have it on my location now. It went off today concerning flash flood so I know it works now. Thank You
