Looks like I'll be solo, since I am single/divorced

and my gal-friend that is also divorced is not going to be able to go. I am 60 now and plan to live my dream. I have been divorced 16 years and I don't know why I haven't met a fella that we both had some chemistry with each other but that is how it goes.

I am not afraid to go alone at all but it would be nice to meet other singles/divorced/widowed so I don't always feel like the fifth wheel (no pun intended

Anyway, if anyone would like to get to know me, I would love to visit, email or maybe just here I am finishing up some business classes at our local community college. I plan to travel and do temp jobs along the way, take lots of photographs for a website I am working on for the photos, and stories I write. I also want to shop along the journey for items I can sell on Ebay, or maybe, on a website I could build just for that, like a "shop" online

I'm also into fitness and nutrition and love kayaking lakes and "easy-goin" rivers

My name is Denise

Thank you Jack, I hope these aren't like dating sites which I don't think work. I am not really looking for a mate, but I would be lying if I said I didn't hope one day to meet a fella again someday I want to meet men and women for friendship and maybe eventually, be able to travel where there are folks I've met online But I will take a look at the sites k? And, thank you again denise

Hi Denise! I'm not a solo, but I thought I'd mention that there are lots of friendly folks right here on iRV2! Check out the different Regional Chapters, Campouts and Rallies section of the board. There is a Northwest Region chapter that you might be interested in. Northwest Region - iRV2 Forums

Sorry your plans didn't work out with your friend, but there's no reason you can't follow your dream. Good luck to you.

I like it here a lot and yes, I will stick with IRV2 even if I check out the other solo sites. I did send an email to one of them already, asking if they have a forum. I went to the site and you need to pay dues before you can communicate with anyone I guess. So yes, I want a forum for real-time conversation/info with folks Thank you much, Denise PS plus the fact I am about meeting and enjoying all kinds of people So I wouldn't want to limit myself of good friends by just sticking with "one" group

Go for it!

I was a single fulltimer for 4 years, met countless interesting people and made many friends that I stay in touch with.

It was a fascinating experience and I don't regret it one bit.

Denise,
You can do it. I am a solo full-time RV'r. it will be fine. There is a lot to learn about this lifestyle but it is fun doing it. I just started bakin' cookies in my convection/micro. I am also 60 yrs young it can be done and it is a lot of fun just having to care for yourself is a small environment. Loners on wheels is more for loners I think you need to stay here for other types of relationships you might be looking for.

thank you for this Jim, I think you are right. Being a loner or isolating is NOT what I want to do with my life. You will have to teach me that trick with baking cookies in a Micro, LOL!

Denise,
I belong to all 3 single RV clubs that I prevousley posted about. You should be careful not to take what you read here as gosple. For example Loners on Wheels is not for "loners" but for "a lone" RV's. It is a social club formed in 1967 that has chapters in just about every state, a campground, and a winter long encampment in the Slabs. It is very strict about the singles life style.
SOLO'S is a singles RV club that is part of Escapees. We have an annual rally at Quartzsite and a Pre-Escapade GTG.
WINS (Wondering Individual Network) is an active group that enjoys hiking, kayaking, and exploring. Sometimes you can spot a WIN by the kayak on the car roof.

I strongly suggest you explore the groups websites and contact members for more information. Good luck!

I checked out the links and I did get a communication from LOW's so I just have "getting" or buying any memberships on hold until Spring I like to take in everyone's opinions/feedback but I do chose for myself

I just want to get "out there" as I feel so stuck right now. It will come together though Thank you much, denise

Another "singles" forum that you might want to look into is the Solo Camper's Forum. Not the most active, but a good bunch of people...

I do apologize if disrespected an other site opportunities here. That was not my intent. I just feel there is more activity on this site and a lot of great people here. Again sorry. And Denise my cookie baking is done in the convection oven of my convection/microwave not just the microwave sorry if I confused you. I just use a regular recipe but replace the sugar with splenda. I just have to add about 2 mins. baking time usually. Have fun.

Oh I didn't see any disrespect, you were just giving your take on a group which I think everyone does that As far as the cookies, they can be tricky no matter what you bake them in, LOL They sure are good, warm-out-of-the-oven though, aren't they denise
