Smile New Guy solo RVer

Hello to all and this forum seems really great and maybe some time I can help some others out. I am age 72 and always had boats however I have COPD and am restricted on what all I can do. I am a single guy and one Daughter who lives out of state and I live near Chattanooga Tn. My plan is to Go to central Florida For Jan. and Feb. staying in a RV park if I can find one that is reasonable priced. My RV is a 2004 Keystone Cougar and it is like new as it was not used often and I am learning as much as I can about maintaining it and have put new tries made in America HA HA. I have a 2004 GMC Duramax 2500 HD to pull it with and have spent a lot on money on the truck which has 163,000 miles so it should be dependable. sorry for all the rambling however It sure feels good to talk to others that love to camp . Any comments on being alone while RVing would be appreciated

Welcome aboard Gibby.

Keep a smile on your face and you won't be alone very long.

If you Google Single RV's you will find all kinds of clubs for single RV'ers.

Howdy and welcome gibby72 and Viewusa!

My best advice is to configure a signature in your profile and include your actual name and rig information. Many of us would prefer to have some idea who we are talking to (and about, for the rig). Then, jump in - start participating!

I've seen small signs at campsites that indicate visitors are welcome - these seem to work (from my observations).

What kind of "being alone while RVing" comments are you looking? I'm a solo full-timer and love finding the quietest and most isolated places possible (which is a bit of a challenge with a huge DP). Everyone is different, of course, so everyone does it differently.

Hi Gibby72! Glad to see there are a few other newbie soloing-seniors here. I am totally new to this RV adventure...just bought my first small class C. I am not a full timer yet and live in SW Fla, so Welcome to the Sunshine State! Hope you found a place for Jan and Feb. I spent my first night alone in my rig the night of the Sarasota tornadoes, which were about 3 miles NE of my campsite! Talk about trial by fire..now I feel I can do anything! Anyway, glad to have some other solos to chat with and maybe camp with down the road!

I am married now but spent most of my time camping solo. Just do what you like to do. Enjoy yourself and others will find you. There is an RV club I saw on TV that will only admit singles but some of them married people from the club. Look up the single groups and make yourself known. God Bless and safe travels from California.
