Solo! New to RVing. 1995 Georgie Boy

Hi!

Iím brand new to RVing and also going full time off grid with it. I am choosing this lifestyle partly out of necessity, and also because itís awesome. Retirement before age 50.
My rig is a 1995 Georgie Boy pursuit small class A. Miles under 50k, in great shape! Getting solar package added and plan to make some mods myself. Redoing interior decor ASAP, starting with carpet getting ripped out. (I mean, carpet around a toilet!? Ew.) Taking out toilet and black water tank and thinking to add a second gray water? Using compost toilet. Trying to understand how to use rain water to fill fresh water tank. Collapsible collection barrel, rig up rain spout to RV roof? Then a filter on spout?

Anyhow, will make a post. Or several. SO.MANY.QUESTIONS. Just read a book about off-grid RVing, and about to start courses. Will set up driving lessons when I go to pick it up. (NC to Il) My home base will be KC, KS area initially, out of necessity. Staying at free parks initially in 2 week spurts and will see how that goes.

Open for tips!!!!!!

Tammy

Here I Go!

DW & I bought the coach in 2018 with the idea to make that great western NP tour we did as kids. We did some shakedown trips and beach excursions and one winter in Florida. Since then, life got in the way and my DW passed away in January. I just now sold the S&B house for what seemed like a ridiculous amount of money, and I have no place but the coach to live in until I settle as to where, if anywhere at all to put down roots. Household goods will be packed and put in storage mid-August and my furry co-pilot, and I will hit the road. Initial plan is to head south and experience Florida at its worst. Then, who knows? As long as the Beast is still rolling, I'm going to roll along with it.

Thanks, Lori. Not a group I would have chosen to join but like you, I'm going to do this if even just to clear my head. Trite to say that life is short, but short or long, life is precious. I want to enjoy whatever time given to me.
