Your 1st sentence:Quartzsite is all boondocking.
Your 5th sentence:The local RV parks in town will also sell you the service of dump and fresh water.
Sounds like there ARE some RV parks available in Quartzsite.

I sit corrected! Thank you!
The numbers of RVs boondocking on BLM land in the Quartzsite area compared to the numbers of RVs in parks is staggering.

If it is dry camping, what do folks without solar panels and smaller water tanks do?

No there are several full hook up RV parks in Quartzsite.

Sold the Motorhome and switch to travel trailer
I have been solo RVing since I retired in 2009 but havn't signed into this forum. I have made a couple of trips to Texas to see my grand kids. I have a son there. I had an adult daughter with me the first time and two adult sons the second. I recently sold my motorhome and bought a GMC Yukon XL and a 26ft Dutchman travel trailer. The trailer doesn't have near the storage space the motorhome had so I have to downsize a bit. I will be doing most of my traveling alone once I get things ready to roll. I hope to meet others out there.

Hi. I am Mary and a solo rver. Iam 63 and travel with my 3 year old lab, Bear, and two orange cats, Lucy and Furball. Started out May 1, so still a newbie. I would like some advice about what to do in the winter months.
Thanks.

Mary!
Welcome to the SOLO RV'ERS thread!
Lots of helpful folks here on IRV2. Not sure where you are traveling, but my guess would be winter time is a good time to be somewhere south where it doesn't freeze over night. Minnesota is not the place to be unless you like cold weather and snow.
I'm sure others will offer more specific locations.

By all means migrate down to the southern most states. You will meet a lot of folks like yourself. I use Florida, but there are a lot of areas that are cheaper and have better availability of RV sites. South Texas, Arizona, just to name a couple. Where ever you go, be sure it is going to be warm.

Another Newbie
Hi,
Newbie solo RV'er here planning to hit the road in the next few months full-time in my new 2017 Bay Star 3518 which I'm taking delivery on next week. Not new to the RV life, but new to doing it solo and full-time. Any advice, suggestions, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Life's too short and our great country has a lot I want to see.....

I am new to solo rving beginning my experience in November. I am thinking about starting at gulf shores state park. Is it normal to find similar solo rv'ers at that location? If not is Florida better or go west? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks bill

New solo fulltimer here. 39 year-old male. I'm sure there's not too many solo RVer's out there my age. Hanging out in New Hampshire for the next month. Will be heading west after that.

Hi Wavey, welcome aboard. Sometimes we are solo and most of the time we are rather silent. We are out there though.
