Just catch'n up!

Hey All: I've been following the posts and enjoying all of them. Have a great time at the Tampa RV show and give those of us who cannot/did not go some feedback. It looks like friendships are forming.

Those of you looking for rigs... hope you are remembering to check the iRV2 Classifieds... green banner along the top where you log in.

Anyone planning on going to the Iowa nationally rally in Sept?

Not me. September is to early for me to leave the cool of the Pacific Northwest. I wish they were holding it a few weeks later. It looks like a very interesting place to visit. Have fun!

Hi all,

Directing our attention back to the Tampa RV show coming up this week, do we have any kind of a plan for some of us to meet?

Enquiring minds want to know.........................

I'm Chris. My wife of 44 years died last May changing my RVing from couple to solo. We have been RVers for many years, even when we both worked. Since we were both retired, we were able to travel when we wanted to. It is a big decision on wether or not to hit the road solo or just give it up. I've decided to hit the road and see this beautiful country while I still can. I'll be traveling in my Gulf Stream toy hauler with the Harley Heritage softail in the back. I don't know yet if the two cats and the dog will be with me. I might let my two adult children adopt them. Big decision. My first big trip solo will be to travel the East coast starting in Birmingham and heading toward Main. I probably will leave sometime in May, weather pending. I also plan to travel to Sturgis bike rally in August with my brother to take in the sites and ride the great roads in South Dakota. I hop to see other happy campers on the road to adventure. Happy travels to you.

Iowa will not be hot or even real warm in September. You probably can expect light frost.

Hi Chris!

Welcome to Solos. Sorry to hear about your wife, but I'm glad that you haven't given up RVing. I am a South Dakota resident -- on paper -- but I don't enjoy having to go back thru there to get my driver's license. The roads might be great for motorcycles, but I found them boring when driving my motorhome.

Thanks Linda for the invite. I will be traveling with two good friends this May. They will be in their Jayco Senica and I in my Gulf Stream. We should be in New Hampshire sometime in June, not for certain as to the exact date. They , like me, are retired public school educators from Okaloosa County in Florida. It will be nice not having a time line for our travels. Last year we all had a great trip to the Grand Canyon, four of us at that time. For this trip we will be a threesome. Tommy and Barbara love meeting new people single, married, or traveling solo. Let me know how to reach you when we arrive in your neck of the woods. This will be our first adventure into New Hampshire.

Tom: How did the Tampa RV Show go? Any other iRV2 solos show up? Attend the iRV2 social? Give us some feedback. Thanks, Maggie

Hi Maggie,

The irv2 social was canceled due to the orgaizer's illness. I enjoyed the show. I found several things that I needed/wanted. There were tons of new RVs, but I wasn't in the market for one. I wish there had been more seminars on a broader range of topics.
